From Sky News on 21, June 2010: Warm weather and the World Cup have inspired a record number of shoppers to spend online, according to new figures. Retail research by Capgemini found that total internet sales in May grew 22% compared to last year, the highest growth since June 2008. Shoppers spent £4.5bn online over the month, the equivalent of £73 for every person in the UK. Sportswear and summer clothing purchases grew nearly a third, with alcohol and electricals sales following close behind.
