January donation payments over £16,000 !

I’m sorry this announcement is a bit late – the todo list has been quite long recently.  The total donation payments this month comes to £16,382.89. With 198 BACS totalling £5,809.33 and 259 cheques totalling £ 10,573.56.  We’re still in the process of moving charities and schools over to electronic BACS transfers which are easier for everyone.  Thanks especially to Michael & Grace who kindly did the envelope stuffing and stamping for all 259 cheques…

A special mention goes to the following charities and schools who each received over £100 this month : Cystic Fibrosis Trust, St Peter’s Primary School in market Bosworth , Suffolk Animal Rescue, Friends of Buxworth School, Farr Edge 2000, St. Lawrence Primary School Effingham, Overdale Infant and Junior Schools in Leicester, The Dassett Primary School, Orchard Nursery School in Tibberton, Merstone School, Classworks Theatre Cambridge and St Bernard’s Preparatory School.

The Greatest Gift from pupils at Ford End School

A few weeks ago, I had the opportunity to speak to pupils and parents of Ford End School near Great Dunmow thanks to an invitation from Clare, the chair of their PTA. It was the first time I had been invited to speak to primary pupils and so I sought the advice and thoughts of others in TheGivingMachine team. We asked the pupils to tell us about what they would consider the greatest gift would be, who they would give it to and why. 199 donation payments in October 2011

It was a relatively slow month in terms of payments this time – probably due to shop payments flowing in relating to the summer period when hopefully most people were enjoying some relaxation.  199 payments totalling £5,462.11 were sent out.

Over £9,000 paid out in August

We were able to send out another £9,000 to over 280 UK schools and charities in the last couple of weeks.  Congratulations in particular go to St. John’s School in Marlborough whose 114 Givers helped the school receive this month’s top payout of £129 to bring their total raised so far to over £1,350.

We had such large payout last month that it would be hard to top that for a while. Capgemini launches first ‘Giving Group’ for UK charities on TheGivingMachine

Employees raise ‘free’ money via TheGivingMachine

Capgemini is giving employees in the UK an opportunity to donate money to charities, such as Alzheimer’s Research UK, for free, in a first of a kind collaboration with fundraising shopping website, TheGivingMachine.

From 7 July 2011, over 8,000 employees will be given the chance to join the Capgemini Giving Group and every time they checkout at their regular online shops, they will be able to raise money for charity, without having to spend a penny extra.

How we raised £123.07 for our School this month

Karen Brand,  Chair of the PTA of Sundridge & Brasted Primary School told us how they grew their Giving Community and how they spend the cash they receive.

I’m the Chair of the PTA for our small primary school I decided to have a go at raising money via The Giving Machine.  Sundridge & Brasted Primary School is a lovely small school but therein lies the problem.  Each year only has 15 pupils, so raising money can be difficult.
